Date(s) - 30/08/2018
11:30 - 13:00
On 30 August, you are welcome to attend a lunchseminar with Stefan Kuczera from Lund University.
Stefan Kuczera is a Postdoctoral fellow in Physical Chemistry at the Kemicentrum, Lund University. He will give a seminar with the title “Rheo-NMR: A versatile toolbox for soft matter research”.
RheoNMR concerns the use of magnetic resonance to study fluids and soft matter under deformational flow. Mapping of velocities onto MRI images (NMR velocimetry) can be used to examine heterogeneous flow phenomena. Complex flow can also be probed on the molecular level by using NMR techniques sensitive to molecular orientation, diffusion and intermolecular association. In this presentation, a fast 2D velocity imaging method (PGSE-RARE) will be introduced along with an application to a common soft matter model system. Furthermore, it is shown how the formation of vesicles under oscillatory shear deformation can be studied with Rheo-NMR methods.
