William Jagust, part of Michael Schöll´s Team and new Visiting Professor at GU, welcomed by Dean Agneta Holmäng

Professor William Jagust, professor at School of Public Health, University of California in Berkeley, USA, is part of Michael Schöll´s research group at The Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine, Gothenburg University.

Jagust is a professor of neuroscience and public health at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, University of California, Berkeley. During a ceremony last Friday, Jagust is now a visiting professor at Sahlgrenska Academy, affiliated with the Schöll group 2018-2021. During Jagust´s visits in Gothenburg, he will be located in his new MedTech West office.

 

On 2 February, William Jagust and the other new international Visiting Professors were formally welcomed to Sahlgrenska Academy by Dean Agneta Holmäng. They also gave detailed presentations of the research collaborations that they want to develop at Sahlgrenska Academy.

The Visiting Professorship program is a new initiative of Sahlgrenska Academy to strengthen and develop internationalization at the Academy’s research environments. It will also stimulate the exchange of knowledge and experience between research groups, as well as inspire further exchanges between research groups with a high international reputation. The program also aims to stimulate high quality of research and contribute to increasing the number of publications in internationally highly rated journals and stimulating research collaboration that can generate large grants.
