Medtech West involved in a new publication

The article Microwave-based stroke diagnosis making global pre-hospital thrombolytic treatment possible was recently published in IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering.
In the article, researchers from Chalmers University of Technology, Sahlgrenska University Hospital and the Sahlgrenska Academy present the results from the proof-of-principle studies involving 45 patients. The results show that the technique with great certainty can distinguish between a thrombosis and a cerebral hemorrhage in patients with acute stroke.
Continuing studies of the Strokefinder are currently taking place at Sahlgrenska University Hospital and at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås in close collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sahlgrenska Academy, Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Medtech West and Medfield Diagnostics. A new product, based on the results from the published article, is already under development and Medfield Diagnostics expects the CE approval to be completed before the end of the year.
