MedTech West´s PhD students travelling Germany
The two of us attended the 7th International Summer School on Biomedical Engineering(ISSBE) in Wittenberg, Germany, from 17th to 29th of August.
At summer school we learned about recent developments and ongoing research in the field of neural imaging and stimulation. Speakers like Risto Ilmoniemi, Jens Haueisen and Myriam Pannetier Lecoeur gave lectures in e.g. ultra low field MRI in combination with MEG, multichannel TMS, dry EEG electrodes and giant magnetoresistive sensors . The course also included the writing and presentation of a paper on the latest developments in some of the covered topics.
We also went to Berlin, where we got a tour of the German National Metrology Institute (PTB). PTB presented some of their current research in MEG and low-field MRI to us
But of course it wasn’t only work. The summer school brought us in contact with other young researchers from many different countries like Cuba, Malaysia and Iceland. Together we all enjoyed excursions to Berlin and the Wörlitzer park, as well as a canoe tour on the Elbe.
